Tomioka Silk Mill
Registered as a World Heritage Site in June, 2014
Designeted as a National Treasure in December, 2014




The mill is closed on 29th, 30th and 31st of December.
Closed every Wednesday .
(If Wednesday is a public holiday, the mill will be opened on this day and closed the following day)
*The mill will be opened everyday from Apr.25th to
May 10th, from July 18th to Aug.31st and on Oct.28th.

Opening hours: 09.00 to 17.00 (last admission at 16.30)







◇Audio guide available in 5 languages(Japanese,English,
French,Chinese and Korean).


◇Let's try Hands-on experience in the operation of "Zaguri",
  a traditional silk-reeling machine on Saturdays and Sundays
    from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. except the lunch hour.

◇Demonstration of the full-scale replica of the original reeling    
   machine on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. except the
   lunch hour.
